Vaporizers

Question: What is the difference between humidifiers, steam inhalers and vaporizers?

I want to get one of the vicks products but im not sure which one is the best to get. i mainly need it for sinus congestion, i have it VERY badly... all the time. i live in the las vegas desert where theres not much moisture in the air.. i just want to breathe better so which one do i need and what is the best product from vicks to get.

Okay, I read the other answers, and I don't think it's as complicated as all of that. Where I live (midwest US) vaporizer, steam inhaler and humidifier are all the same thing. It's just a machine that puts moisture into the air. The inhaler probably offers some way for you to get the steam into your nose, the others are just to put moisture into the room. Anything that puts moisture into the air will help a dry nose. But if you're clogged, moisture by itself might not help. (At least it doesn't help me.) I like menthol cough drops for that. You can also get vicks menthol rub. WHich I don't like becaue it's messy, but I have used it under my nose and it helps.

A vaporizer (or vapouriser) is a device used to extract the active ingredients from plant material without the use of a flame. The vaporizer is used with tobacco, and a variety of other herbal blends. (Aromatherapy or phyto-inhalation). A humidifier is that increases humidity (moisture). steam inhalers- devices which enable you to enhale steam.
